Road safety was at the forefront of the minds of youngsters who attend Bowland Montessori Pre-school when they were visited by school crossing patrol officer Jacqueline Devine.
She is normally on duty in Pendle Road, but went into the pre-school, based at St James’ CE Primary School, to reinforce the importance of road safety.
Youngsters took turns holding the “lollipop” before Jacqueline handed out reflective tape for increasing visibility in the dark. Each also received a road safety colouring sheet.
The visit was the culmination of a transport project which involved the children making vehicle-shaped biscuits and box vehicles. They also went on a bus ride and visited the train station. Later in the day, Jacqueline escorted them to Clitheroe Castle park crossing two roads on the way.
