A MAN in his fifties has died after falling ill at the wheel of his car on one of the main roads out of Clitheroe.
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Constabulary said the man had been driving along Whalley Road towards the A59 when he fell will at the wheel. His car slowly veered off the road colliding with two road signs.
Paramedics rushed him to the Royal Blackburn Hospital, but the man died there a short time later.
Whalley Road was closed for a short period of time while the rescue operation took place.
There will be no police investigation into the incident.
