Friends of motorcycle enthusiast Brian “Stodge” Crabtree held their annual fund-raising motorbike ride out raising more than £1,700 for two local charities.

The ride out through the Yorkshire Dales was enjoyed by between 40 to 50 riders who all met and set off from Westcoast 4X4/Deanfield Test Centre in Clitheroe.

All the riders split into small groups of vintage/tourers and sports bikes. They enjoyed a ride through the spectacular Yorkshire Dales countryside followed by a pie and peas supper at the Waggon and Horses pub, Pimlico Road, Clitheroe.

The £1,720 raised will be shared between the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the North West Air Ambulance in Brian’s memory.

Now an annual event, a date has already been set for 2014’s motorbike ride out event. It will be held on the first Saturday in August.

One of the event’s organisers, Colin Townson, of Westcoast 4X4/Deanfield Test Centre, expressed his thanks to all the event’s sponsors.
