Children aged five and under had lots of literary fun celebrating their favourite stories for World Book Day.
Staff and youngsters at Whalley Meadows Private Day Nursery and Forest School came dressed as their favourite characters and brought their favourite books in to nursery to share with their friends.
Characters included Tigger, 101 Dalmatians, Snow White, Winne the Witch, plus pirates and skeletons.
Whalley Meadows’ nursery manager Sue Chappel said: “It’s important for children to develop a love of reading at a young age, which is why we always make reading fun for our little ones.
“During their time at nursery, we aim for the Whalley Meadows’ children to have developed a love of books that they will carry with them throughout their entire lives.
“Days like World Book Day are a great way to make reading even more exciting. We were thrilled to see so many different characters arrive at the nursery this morning. We’d like to say a big well done to our children and a huge thank you to our families for helping them to pick out their fantastic costumes.”
