Both Bowland speaking teams from Ribblesdale Rotary Club are through to the regional final of Rotary International’s “Youth Speaks” competition.

Both the intermediate and the senior teams are celebrating getting through to the next stage of the prestigious competition, when the six young people will travel to Glyndwr University in Wrexham to compete against teams from Wales, Manchester and Cheshire.

A Rotary representative said: “It is difficult enough to ensure that one team succeeds at every level of this event, so getting both teams through to the next stage is pretty unique. Thanks must go to Bowland High School’s hard working English teacher Miss Nolan for the hours she has committed to the students, giving them both confidence and the ability to excel.”
