The ever-popular Chipping Steam Fair rolled into the picturesque village at the weekend, bringing with it not only the sunshine, but also a record number of visitors and exhibitors alike.

Alongside the main visitor attractions of classic cars and steam engines on show, visitors also enjoyed a mobile zoo, funfair, helicopter rides and beer tent along with entertainment throughout the day in the form of bands and plenty of activities for the children.

Show founder, Mary Harrison said: “This years show was beyond our wildest dreams – the weather, the entertainment, the help of all the local volunteers, it was all just marvellous. We were, of course, also so lucky with the beautiful weather.”

She continued: “I must say a big thank you to everyone who helped – we couldn’t have done it without the local support and the stewards who work so hard every year to make the show such a tremendous success.”

The show that started 15 years ago on a pub car park in Chipping has evolved into a major event. All proceeds from the show are allocated to local charities which the committee deem most deserving. Over the years, the show has supported many fantastic local causes, all doing their bit to help make their community a better and brighter place.
