Hundreds of people put their best feet forward for the second Rotary Club of Ribblesdale Pub Walk to raise funds for East Lancashire Hospice.

Nearly 300 people took part in the 10 mile walk, with a few beer stops along the route, after they were officially sent on their way by the Mayor of the Ribble Valley, Coun. Joyce Holgate.

Walkers stopped at a selection of hostelries including Brady’s wine bar, The Dog, De Lacey Arms and The Swan before heading to Mitton and back to Billington where they were welcomed into The Brass Band Club for free hot dogs, biscuits and a chance to watch some of the football.

East Lancashire Hospice fundraising manager Sharon Crymble said:“We are indebted to The Rotary Club of Ribblesdale for all the time they put into organising the walk. Thank you to all our volunteers who helped and to all our walkers who have raised funds to help us to care for the patients at the hospice -you should all be very proud.”
