Quad bikes targeted in theft spate

There have been 14 incidents involving the theft or attempted theft of quad and motocross type vehicles since the beginning of January.

A Clitheroe police spokesperson said: "The incidents have all, in the main, seen rural properties targeted and in the absence of motor vehicles, we have also seen the theft of tools from unsecured outbuildings and barns.

"We would urge owners of all of these types of bikes to fit GPS tracker devices to the vehicles as they can be bought relatively cheaply and can greatly assist in us being able to trace and recover vehicles. We would also remind them to make sure all outbuildings are secured at all times."
