Cheers! A popular village pub has been named as “Pub of The Year 2014”.

The Dog Inn, Whalley, was crowned winner after a visit from members of the local branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). Licensee Norman Atty and his wife, Christine, have been at The Dog Inn for over 22 years, but according to them, full credit for this award must go to their bar manager, Chris Jay.

Mr Atty said: “He selects the beers personally and always ensures that a wide range is available to suit the pubs discerning real ale consumers. The pub’s reputation for its quality beers is entirely to his credit.”
