Policing in the Ribble Valley was discussed at the recent quarterly meeting of the Lancashire Police Forum hosted by Ribble Valley Borough Council.

The Forum is made up of all borough councils within Lancashire who meet together with the police and crime commissioner of Lancashire to discuss community safety issues and general policing throughout the county.

Ribble Valley Community Safety Partnership chairman Coun. Kevin Horkin said: “I was extremely pleased to be able to host the police forum within our own Clitheroe Town Hall and get the opportunity to bring to the police commissioner’s attention all of our particular concerns relating to the policing of the Ribble Valley.”

He added: “Issues that were discussed included the policing of civic and community events, the policing of the night time economy and rural crime.

“The police and crime commissioner was particularly impressed with the many community safety projects that our own community safety partnership had initiated.”
