council officers and police are getting on board STAN the van – a specially converted vehicle - on Wednesday to tackle community concerns in the Ribble Valley.
STAN (Services To A Neighbourhood) is shared between Ribble Valley, Rossendale and Pendle Borough Councils supported by Lancashire County Council’s Help Direct. It aims to help residents to find answers to a range of issues such as crime prevention, council tax, energy efficiency, hiring a handyman and debt advice.
The van will be visiting different parts of the Ribble Valley starting on Wednesday September 5th when it will be in the car park at Spar, Henthorn Road, Clitheroe, between midday and 2pm.
Adam Mellor, Police Community Support officer for Clitheroe East, Salthill and St Mary’s, will be on hand to speak to people about crime prevention and other community issues. PC Mellor said: “STAN helps people to access information about what is available from their local public services and also find out about voluntary and community organisations in the area. We will be stopping off at many places across the Ribble Valley and I encourage residents to come and visit STAN when we are parked up in their community.”
