Photos: Queen hands out Maundy Money in Blackburn

Waiting for Video...

The Queen paid a special visit to Blackburn today to hand out Maundy Money to unsung heroes in communities throughout East Lancashire.

Recipients from across the Burnley and Pendle area, as well as the Ribble Valley, were among 88 men and 88 women handed the historic token of gratitude by the Monarch in her first visit to Blackburn Cathedral.

Thousands turned out to greet the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

Don’t miss the Express next week, along with Leader-Times Newspapers and the Clitheroe Advertiser & Times for more on the historic visit and the people who met the Queen.
