Scouts Celebrate a Year of Success
Scouts from across East Lancashire completed their centenary celebrations with a extravaganza of music, light, dancing and indoor fireworks at King George's Hall in Blackburn.
The show was intended as an end of centenary celebration and an opening into their next centenary.
The cast of over 60 Scouts included young people from ages 6-24, and was drawn from all areas across East Lancashire involving many months in preparation. It included video clips of their many activities during the last 12 months as well as fun and sketches – many of which were devised by the young people themselves and ended with a live phone in message of congratulations from Chief Scout, Peter Duncan.
The show was played to an audience of over 1200 which included fellow scouts and their families from across the County.
The programme included
* music
* dance
* an excerpt from 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'
* drumming spectacular
* an indoor campfire
…and many fun sketches
Commented Alistair an Explorer Scout and participant from Clitheroe District, "This was so much fun to do and something we can be proud of for many years to come. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to our next 100 years."
