Visitors are welcome to take a stroll around the gardens of Lower Dutton Farm, Ribchester, at the weekend as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) open gardens event.
The annual initiative raises funds for charities including MacMillan Cancer Support, Help the Hospices, Carers’ Trust, Marie Curie Cancer Care and many more.
Lower Dutton Farm, Gallows Lane, Ribchester, PR3 3XX, is situated a mile and a half north east of Ribchester. The gardens will be open on Saturday August 10th and Sunday August 11th from 1 pm to 5 pm. Admission is £3-50, children free.
The traditional long Lancashire farmhouse and barn (not open) has a one and a half acre garden. There are formal gardens near the house with mixed herbaceous beds plus wild flower beds and shrubs. Sweeping lawns lead to a wildlife area and established large pond. There is a small woodland with a mixture of trees and plants.
Ample parking is provided on an adjacent field.
