A team leader from Sainsbury’s, Clitheroe, got on his bike to join the supermarket’s Big Bike Ride 3.

The Big Bike ride event was started three years ago to raise money for each store’s nominated local charity of the year.

95 Sainsbury’s colleagues from 20 supermarkets and convenience stores in the North West took part in a number of different cycle routes dependent on distance and ability.

Aaron Sharp, bakery team leader at the Clitheroe store will got on his bike to help raise money for local animal charity Pendle Dogs in Need.

He said: “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to help raise money for this great charity and hope to make a difference to underprivileged dogs in the local community.”

The ride was completed over three days taking in Penrith, Cockermouth, Carlisle, Bamber Bridge, Blackburn, Burnley, Colne, Clitheroe, Preston, Morecambe, Lancaster, Garstang, Cleveleys, Blackpool and Lytham, taking in all Sainsbury’s stores along the route.
