LONG-RUNNING radio show “Desert Island Discs” provided the inspiration for the latest meeting of the Cercle Français de Ribblesdale.
Members took along their favourite pieces of music – French, naturally! – to the meeting at Whalley Abbey’s Great Hall, where they played them to fellow members and talked about their choices.
There were many members there, joined by a number of visitors for the evening, and the choice of music varied from French carols to modern popular music. To celebrate the season there was also mulled wine and light refreshments.
Next month’s meeting, taking place at the same venue on January 14th at 7-30 p.m., will be a film evening followed by a discussion. More details about the club can be found on its website at: www.cerclefribblesdale.co.uk
