Earlier this month Ribblesdale High School once again showed its warm heart by raising an amazing £311 for cancer charity Clic Sargent.
7D and their coach, Mrs Taylor, were asked to raise money for a charity of their choice, along with many other Year 7 coaching groups; 7D took it upon themselves to raise money for a charity close to the heart.
A member of the coaching group, Katie Robbins, will be clear of cancer for five years in June. She and her family are keen to thank the charity that helped her recover, Clic Sargent, by raising as much money as they can. On top of celebrations and charity work outside school, when the opportunity arose to get Ribblesdale involved, the choice was simple. Yes!
The charity work 7D has done has been unbelievable, including a “Wig Wednesday” event in which members of the coaching group were sponsored to wear a wig for a day. The group also held a bake sale, sold pens, badges and wristbands all around school and a copper collection took place.
When we spoke to the coaching group they were thrilled and very enthusiastic at getting involved and wanted to raise as much possible. Congratulations 7D and Mrs Taylor for your efforts, we hope you are rewarded for all your hard work!
