A missing pot bull from a local pub is taking pride of place once again following an appeal for its return.
Anthony and Marjorie Bannister, landlord and landlady of the Brown Cow pub on Moor Lane, Clitheroe, appealed on social networking site Facebook for the bull’s safe return after its recent disappearance.
The ornament was one of a pair left to landlady Marjorie by her father, Jack Bland.
Marjorie and Anthony’s daughter Laura Smithies (35) posted an appeal on the Brown Cow’s Facebook page resulting in a member of the public texting Laura to say the pot bull had been found safe and well in a nearby takeaway.
He had taken the pot bull home in a taxi and contacted Laura after reading her post on Facebook.
“We are so pleased,” said Laura, who has been managing the Brown Cow for the past eight months, “and thank you all our lovely friends and customers for sharing the post, you’re the best. Mum is seriously chuffed.”
She added that the Brown Cow is fortunate to have such loyal customers who cared about their “local”.
“There’s not many real ‘local’ pubs like ours left,” Laura said, “and all our customers look out for each other so I’m not surprised that the bull was returned to us safe and sound and with absolutely no damage!”
