Chipping in the 1960s, when the Forest of Bowland AONB was designated.

Visitors to Chipping Show this Saturday are being asked to take along any memorabilia, photos or newspaper
cuttings about rural life in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty since its designation in 1964.

The Scrapbook project, funded by the Heritage Lottery and AONB, is recording people’s memories and photos on the themes of village life, major events, farming life and visitor patterns.

It is concentrating in particular on how villages have changed since 1964 with the closure of shops and post offices, the development of new services, an influx of new people, how farming has changed, big and small events, and visitors’ activities.

All contributors will get a free copy of the Scrapbook publication.
