Northern Brass Quintet kick off Clitheroe Concerts Society 2011 programme

A PROGRAMME of music specially composed for the Northern Brass Quintet, together with arrangements of more familiar pieces, promises an entertaining evening when Clitheroe Concerts Society stages its first event of 2011.

The Quintet, who appear by permission of the Royal Northern College of Music, come from different backgrounds, explaining their wide ranging choice of music. They can play musical styles from the baroque to modern jazz – by way of pop!

This concert breaks new ground for the Clitheroe society, a brass quintet being a comparative rarity. It takes place at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School's York Street site, on Wednesday, February 9th, at 7-30 p.m.. Tickets, priced 12.50, can be obtained from Clitheroe Music and the Tourist Office at Ribble Valley Borough Council's offices in Church Walk, or from the society's website, (www.clitheroeconcerts.org).

Accompanied children are admitted free. Tickets will also be available on the door, subject to availability.
