THanks has been expressed by members of Chipping Football Club after they received much-needed funds towards their new kit for the coming season.
Matt Ireland, manager of the team during the winter season, thanked the owner of The Gibbon Bridge Hotel, Chipping, for her generosity.
He said: “We would like to offer our thanks to Janet Simpson and everyone at the Gibbon Bridge for the new strip and all their support over the past few years.
“Sponsors are not easy to find, so it’s great for the club to have such support from a successful local business.”
Meanwhile, Chipping are coming to the end of their summer league campaign in the Catforth and District League with the first XI finishing in third place in division 2 and the second XI well on course for a top four finish.
The winter season is now rapidly approaching and the club will line up in the second division of the Preston and District Football League, with the season commencing on August 20th.
The club will be holding a training session on the Chipping playing fields from 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 6th. Anyone who would like to come and get involved in the club is more than welcome.
