Patients, volunteers and staff at East Lancashire Hospice were very pleased to meet the new Ribble Valley Mayor, Coun. Bridget Hilton last week when she visited.

Accompanied by her Mayoress Mrs Kath Hill, the Mayor was shown around by the chair of trustees, Graham Parr and chief executive of the hospice, Lyn Stevenson.

Coun. Hilton has been involved with the hospice for many years and was very pleased to see how it had developed, both in terms of the services on offer and the overall environment, such as the addition of the beautiful gardens.

For more than 30 years, East Lancashire Hospice has continuously provided a special way of caring for people suffering from life limiting illnesses throughout Blackburn, Darwen, Accrington and Clitheroe. Some of the services they provide include an in-patient service, creative and support therapies, physio and occupational therapy and counselling.

The patients were very pleased to meet the Mayor and were all very keen to let her know just how much the hospice meant to them and their families.
