Members of Bolton by Bowland met for an inspiaritonal tals about Derian House, the children’s hospice at Sawley. Lucy Sawdon, the charity’s community fundraiser, represented Derian House and provided members with an explanation of the various services it provides and how important donations are, as they have to raise more £3m. million a year, with only 9% of their costs funded by the Government. Essentially the hospice provides care and support on many levels for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Bolton by Bowland YFC selected Derian House as one of its 2014 charities. They held their annuals Christmas Cracker event in December of 2013 and £1,000 of the money raised was donated to the hospice, because it is a local charity which is close to so many peoples hearts.
