Keen fisherman Walter Carroll has more time for his hobby now that he’s retired after 27 years’ service with Ribble Valley Borough Council.

Walter was General Works Foreman at the council’s Salthill Depot, where he will be much missed by his colleagues. Members of his team attended a retirement presentation at the council’s main offices in Church Walk, Clitheroe, where Walter was presented with fishing equipment by the Mayor, Coun. Richard Sherrass, and the Director of Community Services, John Heap. He has also received a local government long service award. As well as fishing, Walter is looking forward to spending more time with his family.
