She said: “We’ll be following a popular route onto the hill from the village of Barley and it will be a great chance for people to find out about the new Pendle Hill Landscape Partnership scheme which is currently being developed.”

Given clear weather, the views from the summit of the hill are breath-taking and the reason why thousands of people make their way to the top each year.

The very popularity of Pendle Hill can lead to problems with congestion and erosion, and it’s hoped the Heritage Lottery-funded Landscape Partnership scheme could help to address some of these issues.
