Woman (56) seriously injured in Whalley accident

A 56-YEAR-OLD woman suffered serious head injuries after an accident in Whalley.

The woman, who is believed to be from York Village, also suffered a fractured eye socket after allegedly walking into the path of a cyclist in Moor Lane, Whalley.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. last Wednesday and the woman was rushed to Royal Blackburn Hospital where she appears to be recovering.

The road was closed for over and hour and police are appealing for witnesses to contact PC Paul Spooner by phoning 01254 51212.
