Police appeal: do you recognise Wilpshire raider?

POLICE have issued an Evofit image of a man they want to find following five attempted back-door burglaries in Wilpshire and the nearby Brownhill area of Blackburn.

He was unsuccessful every time, but a witness has been able to give police a detailed description.

He is white, aged 36-45, with dark brown hair and a moustache and was smartly dressed wearing a collar and tie and possibly a lanyard or identity card around his neck.

Sergeant Eric Halford said: “These appear to be crude attempts at forcing open rear patios.

“These offences appear amateurish which may explain the unusual description of the offender as I believe he may have committed these offences for the first time.”

Anyone with information can contact Lancashire Police on 101, speak with Sergeant Halford and his team on 01254 353968, or provide information to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org
