Martin Bell in Clitheroe

editorial image

MARTIN BELL, the BBC’s former foreign correspondent, will be making a special appearance at The Grand, Clitheroe, on Wednesday, March 7th.

“An Evening with Martin Bell” promises to shed light on the fascinating career of the TV journalist, a tough veteran of eleven wars.

Martin will be showing rare film footage of conflicts he covered, including the Vietnam War, Northern Ireland and the war in Bosnia, where he was wounded.

The film will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience.

While Martin’s days as a fearless war correspondent may be behind him, as is his stint as an Independent MP, he now acts as an ambassador for Unicef, but remains an outspoken critic of journalism today.

The event will also raise money for Martin’s nominated charity, and he will be donating his fee to Help for Heroes.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are priced, £12 and £10 (concessions). For further information, please call 01200 421599.
