Ribble Valley holds, near Dunsop Bridge, the very centre of the UK and its associated islands, yet there are still people here hard at work for a charity which routinely saves lives in the seas around Britain’s coastline.

And now there are new opportunities to get involved locally in the vital work the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

The charity’s Clitheroe Branch raises funds for the RNLI by holding a range of events each year, all organised by local volunteers who take pleasure in helping save lives at sea while at the same time meeting new people and having lots of fun along the way. The branch is currently looking for new members to get involved, even if you can spare just a little time – everybody is welcome!

As well as new members it is hoping to find a volunteer able to carry out an Events Co-ordinator role. If you already have, or would like to develop, events management experience, the charity would love to hear from you.

The Branch would also like to find a secretary, so again if you are an organised person with bags of enthusiasm please get in touch.

A spokesmand for the charity said: “All of our volunteering opportunities will allow you to develop further, meet new people and improve your CV. This is also a great opportunity to make a real difference and help raise funds for this lifesaving charity; if you are interested we would love to hear from you.

Anyone keen to get involved can apply online at www.rnli.org.uk/volroles or for more information call 07500 608222 for more information.
