A CLITHEROE man has been sent to Preston Crown Court on a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm following an incident in the smoking area of a local pub.

Mark Wilson (46), of Manor Road, gave no indication of plea when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with an assault on James John Holden.

Mr Holden was allegedly kicked unconscious outside The Horseshoe Inn in November. Hospital X-rays revealed Mr Holden had a broken nose and a fractured eye socket.
