Clitheroe supermarket backs mountain rescue team
Pendle Hill
Over £600 was raised for the Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team over a series of visits to Booths supermarket in Clitheroe.
The team took the opportunity to inform the staff and customers how they operate and to help them learn more about the service in general.
A team member of RPMRT commented: “We have always received generous donations from Booths customers and it was great to see some familiar faces there. Over £600 is a phenomenal amount and the money will help the team to function on a day-to-day basis and will help ensure we can deliver the efficient service that we are known for.”
He continued: “The team have had a few callouts in Clitheroe and surrounding areas over the last year and it’s great to see the support we have received in return from the community. Thank you to all who donated.”
Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue team is a registered charity made up entirely of volunteers. Through the 999 system, they are called out to carry out search and rescue duties over 350 square miles of East Lancashire, Pendle, Rossendale and parts of Greater Manchester.
