Buried treasure for future pupils
Pupils at Pendle Primary School in Clitheroe prepare to bury their time capsule with Arron Grundy and Daniel Chadwick of Johnson Matthey.
To commemorate the 80th birthday of Pendle Primary School a Time Capsule has been buried in its grounds.
It will be dug up in 2032 when the school celebrates its centenary.
Every class decided what they would like to put in the capsule to give future pupils a flavour of what it was like being at Pendle in 2012/2013. Items buried included an aerial photo of school and a recent plan; photographs of children playing in the different outside areas; information about favourite school activities; samples of history and literacy work; a school prospectus and a copy of the latest Ofsted report.
A photograph of the Johnson Matthey employees who dug the hole for the Time Capsule was also included, together with newspapers featuring the London 2012 Olympics.
A plaque will be put up in school giving details about where the capsule has been buried.
