Boy (17) attacked on Clitheroe train - police appeal

British Transport Police are calling on the public to help trace two men who assaulted a 17-year-old on a train between Clitheroe and Blackburn.

The incident happened at around 6-30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10th, as the victim was travelling home.

PC Chris Haughton said: “The teenager was minding his own business when he was approached by two men who, without warning or provocation, assaulted him by punching him to the face.

“The suspects got off the train at Blackburn while the victim stayed on board until Darwen where he called police.”

PC Haughton added: “I am now calling on the public to help trace those responsible. In particular, I would like to speak to a man who was at Clitheroe station where the victim was initially approached by the offenders.

“This was a vicious assault and we need to find those responsible as soon as possible.”
