A late night drive for a burger earned a 20 year old woman a driving ban.

Blackburn magistrates heard police were contacted by a member of staff at the Clitheroe McDonalds to report that a customer appeared to be drunk as she drove through.

Megan Laura Holt (20), of Church Street, Ribchester, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. She was banned from driving for 18 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £150 criminal court charge, £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said when a police officer attended Holt was still in her car with the engine running.

Gareth Price, defending, said it was another sad case of flawed decision making. "She had been out drinking with a friend and at the end of the night was looking for a taxi," said Mr Price. "When she couldn't find one she made the foolish decision to drive home."
