Over the past few weeks walkers have been preparing for the first Clitheroe Starlight Hike taking place on Friday September 21st for local Sue Ryder charity. The Sue Ryder stars will be striding out for a 10k walk around Clitheroe Castle and the historical market town streets. The night has guaranteed entertainment and a chance to support Sue Ryder by raising funds to provide vital care to local people.
Walkers will get set to pace the six mile route from the stroke of midnight, which starts and finishes at the Norman castle keep. At the finish line they will receive well deserved breakfast and goodies.
Event organiser Emma Russ commented “Starlight Hike is our biggest fund-raising event this year and it is going to be really exciting to see so many people walking under the stars. It will be a great night out.
“There will be many people across Lancashire joining us but there is still time to register yet and where urging everyone to get signed up before it’s too late. The event is open to all; women, children and men.”
Emma added, “Events like this are vital to ensure Sue Ryder continues to provide long-term care to the local community. We know that only 10% of people took part in a fund-raising event for a health charity last year, so we hope local people will seize the opportunity to see one of Lancashire’s best known landmarks – as well as fund-raising - in a whole new light.”
