Keepers of best allotments rewarded for their efforts

The winners in Clitheroe Town Council’s annual competition for the best kept allotments have been presented with their prizes by the Town Mayor, Coun. Val Cooper. This year’s first prize winner in the Garden Section of the competition was Ms S. Jones, with Mr A. Jackson second, Mr S. Entwistle third and Mr E. Woodend highly commended. In the Pigeon Section, first prize went to Mr B. Scott, second to Mr N. Robinson and third to Mr H. Lofthouse.

First prize winners received a cheque for £25 plus a cup and certificate, while second prize winners recived £15 and a certificate and third prize was £10 and a certificate. The prizes were presented in the Mayor’s Parlour in Church Street.
