Children at a Clitheroe primary school will be enjoying more al fresco dining thanks to the efforts of its PTA and school council members.

Pupils at St Michael and St John’s RC Primary School will be eating their packed lunches on three new picnic benches which have been bought with funds raised during a sponsorship week, pyjama day, disco, film nights and world book day organised by the PTA and student council.

The picnic benches will be situated on the parish field thanks to permission kindly granted by the parish priest Father John Corcoran.

As well as using the picnic benches to sit on while eating their packed lunches, they will also be used for outdoor classroom work including the Forest School that is currently being run every Friday afternoon.
