MOORHOUSE’s Brewery has issued an invitation to all the participants of this summer’s Pendle Witch Walk to attend their Halloween Beer Festival.
The festival takes place on Friday and Saturday October 26th and 27th at the bistro in Moorhouse’s Brewery, Burnley. On the Saturday evening it will incorporate an awards ceremony for Pendle Witch Walk. The event will also feature the screening of a DVD film of the event, produced by Burnley Film Makers.
Pendle Witch Walk took place on August 18th – the exact 400th anniversary of the witch trials and with 1,300 people attending the event, Barley was invaded by witches for the day. Almost 800 people completed the sponsored walk portion of the event, with 482 of them being part of a new Guinness World Record for the largest ever gathering of “witches”.
David Grant, MD of Moorhouse’s Brewery, said: “We were proud to be a sponsor of Pendle Witch Walk, it was the stand out event of this summer. So many people got into the spirit of marking a key moment in our local history – and to raise £30,000 for Pendleside Hospice was magnificent.”
“We’d love to see Witch Walkers attending our Halloween Beer Festival – I imagine a few will be in their witch outfits too! As an added incentive, we’re offering a discount to anyone who turns up in their witch costume or for people sporting their Pendle Witch Walk T-shirt or medal.”
Julian Jordan, one of the organisers of Pendle Witch Walk, added: “We’re delighted to be joining Moorhouse’s for their Halloween Beer Festival. They were a very generous sponsor of the event – and even produced a special beer for the day called ‘1612’, that went down very well at the bar we had on Barley Green.
“I hope other sponsor, as well as many of those that were on the Witch Walk will be able to join us for what should prove to be a brilliant event.”
