The winner of the latest Shop Clitheroe draw is mother-of-three Jo Black, who has won £50 of vouchers to spend in local shops.

Jo collected her vouchers from Kathryn Lewis of Sarah Rose in the Market Place, which opened nearly three years ago and has been a members’ station since the scheme was launched last year by Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and Commerce, and promoted by the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times.

Kathryn said “The Shop Clitheroe scheme has really mushroomed since last August and we are kept busy with more people signing up daily.

“It really fits in with our ethos of ‘shopping to make you smile’ as it is free to join and everyone has a chance to win.”

Jo, who is originally from Devon, but has lived and worked around the UK, is married to Adam and was accompanied by her children Alistair (nine), Freya (seven) and Calum (four) who all attend Pendle Primary School, Clitheroe.

The children have several pets including a cat and rabbit as well as enjoying playing outside in the family’s town centre garden.

When not busy dealing with all the usual household chores and caring for the children, Jo loves to read when she gets the chance, with a nice cup of coffee.

And she finds she saves valuable time by doing most of her shopping in Clitheroe.

Jo said: “I was very surprised to be told that I was this month’s winner. I think the Shop Clitheroe scheme is great.

“With 70 local businesses in the scheme it encourages me to seek out some shops that I might not have gone in before.

“Plus, I now have another £50 to spend in Clitheroe businesses.”

Jo is now looking forward to spending her winnings, having been a regular at Sara Rose since the shop opened.
