The campaign to fund research into blood cancer has been boosted by £2,000 thanks to the enterprising ladies of St Michael and St John’s Church in Clitheroe.

A charity night held in January, with well known comedian Jimmy Cricket, raised the grand total of £2,025

and the money was donated to Bloodwise, the UK’s leading blood cancer charity.

Blood cancer is the UK’s fifth most common cancer and the most common in children and young people.

Thanks to massive investment Bloodwise can personalise each person’s treatment as there are 137 different types of this cancer.
