Hurst Green ‘murder’ investigation

WI - The next meeting of Hurst Green WI is on Thursday, in the Memorial Hall. It is a murder mystery evening and members should already know their parts. Margaret Carrington, who is organising the evening, asks that members make themselves a name badge for their character, to make things easier on the night.

Coffee stop - The popular 3 in 1 Coffee Stop social event will be held on Monday, from 2 to 4-30 p.m. in St John’s Old School hall. Drop in to sample coffee and cakes, chat to friends and browse the stalls for a bargain.

Pudding party - Now an annual event to brighten up February, this food fest is especially for those who enjoy a good pudding. This will be on Friday, at 7-30 p.m. in Hurst Green Memorial Hall. After hot-pot, participants get to sample a variety of decadent sweets. There are also games and home-made entertainment. Tickets are £8 for adults and £3 for children and profits go to St John’s Church. Tel. Gill MacDonnell 826378 to reserve a place.

Over-65s party - The over-65s’ party will be held on Friday, March 25th, at 7-30 p.m. This will be a meal and entertainment with good company, Tel. Agnes Bland 826599 or Gill MacDonnell 826378 to reserve a place.

Car wash - On Sunday, March 6th St John’s KidZone will be washing cars while you wait. For £5, you can have your car washed and indulge in a bacon butty free. Turn up between 12-15 and 2 p.m. and relax, all profits are to help the Kidzone trip to Arnside.
