How to make a decorated egg in Dunsop Bridge

Decorated eggs - At the meeting of Dunsop Bridge WI president Mrs Beattie welcomed everyone and introduced guest speaker Trisha Bugeja who had brought along her decorated eggs.

She explained how she prepared the eggs, firstly blowing, cleaning inside and out before painting and sanding many times before starting on the decoration. Some of the eggs were hinged and decorated inside and some cut into patterns. She uses eggs as small as quails to large ostrich eggs. She was thanked by Mrs M. Beattie.

A competiition for an egg was won by Shirley Singleton, Mary Cowking, Angela Hargreaves.

Mrs L. James is to be the delegate at the spring council meeting when Mr Michael Portillo will be the guest speaker.

A lettter of thanks was received from the Women’s Refuge in Preston for members’ gifts of underwear and toiletries.

The monthly raffle was won by Janet Wells and the birthday flowers were given to Miss Mary Worswick.

At the March meeting the speaker will be June Sharples who will give a scarf demonstration. The competition is for a favourite scarf. Tea hostesses will be A. Hargreaves, J. Hall and L. James.
