Horse rider warning signs put up in Langho

Thanks to the combined efforts of Lancashire County Councillor Chris Holtom and the authority’s Principal Engineer Mark Hornby, horse rider warning triangles have been installed at three locations around York Village, Langho.

Veronica Hargreaves, of Snodworth Livery Yard, explained: “We set up a small working party which was attended by Coun. Holtom. We undertook a comprehensive riding and road safety review and submitted our report to Lancashire County Council in support of our campaign.

“This was followed up by an on-site meeting with Mark Hornby to evaluate the best locations for installing the warning signs. Riders at Snodworth Livery are absolutely delighted that LCC have put the signs in place and can now look forward to hacking out this summer knowing that vehicle drivers have been warned to expect equestrians on the road.

“Our very grateful thanks go to Chris, Mark and all at LCC.”

Coun. Holtom said: “We were very impressed with the professional approach taken by Snodworth Livery Yard and were keen to do all we could to help them promote safe riding on the road.”
