Whalley Abbey is the latest venue for the next event in the inaugural Ribble Valley Music Festival.

Quality performances of a wide range of live music have become the trademark of the festival and the next event, at the conference centre at 7-30 pm on Friday July 31st, is no exception.

Colne Orpheus Glee Union male voice choir, conducted by Matthew Leedam, will perform a wide repertoire ranging from stage and film musicals to sacred music and male voice favourites, with solo items by choir members.

The 30-strong choir claims to be England’s longest established male voice choir, established in 1886. In recent years they have embarked on singing tours to Germany, France, Ireland and Malta, with a trip to Scotland planned for September.

All proceeds are for upkeep of the Abbey. Tickets are £8 (no booking fee) from Abbey reception 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday, or call 01254 828400 or 01254 384893. There will be a pay bar.
