Ann Pollard, Lady Captain at Whalley Golf Club, chose Pendleside Hospice to be her Charity of the Year throughout her year in office.

During the year the Ladies Committee at the club, on Clerk Hill Road, raised £1,280 from donations, a golf competition and a dinner which alone raised more than £800.

Ann commented: “I have really enjoyed my year as Lady Captain, but I am ready for a rest and I only have a couple of weeks left. Thank you to all our members for helping to raise this money for the Hospice.”

A cheque was presented to Pendleside Hospice Fundraiser Samantha Bracewell, who said: “Thank you very much to all the members of Whalley Golf Club Ladies Committee for their support, which we are very grateful for as it enables us to provide continuous care to people with life-limiting illness’ in Burnley and Pendle.”
