Ribble Valley duo Jon Horsfall and Graham Entwistle are facing another challenge in the Himalayas.
Jon (41) works for Canal and River Trust and Graham (52), for United Utilities, but next month they will be donning their crampons again to raise money for well-known North West charity, Derian House Children’s Hospice.
They are gearing up to climb across the Manirang pass, near Tibet, in aid of the Chorley-based charity.
“The hardest part of the climb won’t be the altitude, but spending three weeks in the confines of a small tent with Graham’s snoring!” said Jon
The pair have been training hard up in the Lake District to make sure they are physically and mentally prepared for the hardships they will experience undertaking a challenging climb at such high altitude. But the hard work will all be worthwhile for the two friends, who just want to raise as much as possible for Derian House.
“Derian House is a fantastic cause and is almost entirely reliant on donations,” said Jon. “People have been very generous and I hope other people and businesses will give what they can,” he added.
