New support group for Derian House children’s hospice launched in Ribble Valley
A NEW support group for Derian House children’s hospice has been launched in the Ribble Valley.
Local councillors and representatives of business and the voluntary sector were invited to a meeting at the Inn at the Station, King Street, Clitheroe, to hear from Stan Bamber, chairman of the Friends of Derian House.
The hotel will now become the centre for fund-raising in the Ribble Valley, backed by an informal group of helpers, while fund-raising events will be organised by the team based at Derian House.
Gary Clough, proprietor of The Inn, said: “There isn’t a formal supporters’ committee as such, but we have a good number of people who are willing to help.
“It will be a platform to give Derian House a foothold in the Ribble valley.”
The next Ribble Valley event is a burlesque night and buffet on Friday, March 8th, featuring Kiki’s Kabaret with Kiki deVille and friends. Tickets at £15 are available from the Inn at the Station, email innatthestation@tiscali.co.uk
