Volunteer plea to keep Ribble Valley MS group open

For the past 25 years the Ribble Valley Branch of the MS Society has provided care and support for sufferers of this debilitating disease, supported by generous financial contributions from service
organisations and the local community.

The day-to-day running of the branch has been in the hands of a small group of volunteers, who give their time to ensure that this service continues to be provided. However, the posts of chairman, secretary and treasurer become time expired in May this year and the group needs the help of suitably qualified people to replace the present incumbents.

If it cannot find replacements the branch will close and ongoing care will be provided from the Blackburn and Preston branches. Such a course of action would involve the loss of immediate local access for existing members, with additional travel costs.

The group is extremely keen to hear from anyone who feels able to offer support as either chairman, secretary or treasurer, or in other supportive role. More information is available from current chairman, Peter Spencer on 01200 441503 or by email to p.spencer146@btinternet.com
