Child Action Northwest has sent out an SOS for a charitable sports masseur, physiotherapist or massage therapist to support its team of runners in this year’s Manchester 10k run on Sunday, May 18th.
The children’s charity, based in Wilpshire, has booked a spot in the charity village at Manchester Central where runners can pick up refreshments and meet the fund-raising team.
Martin Hartley Smith, the charity’s business development director is taking part along with 10 other members of staff from the Care and Accommodation team responsible for the Foster Care operation. He explained: “Many of our participants this year are first timers. They won’t have run in a big event like this or supported us by raising money to help our work, so it’s a big thing to be part of this massive event and a special day. We want to be able to provide hospitality and make the people that run for Child Action Northwest feel really special.”
The charity still has places available for runners who can commit to raising a minimum of £150 in sponsor money. Potential participants or people with massage skills who can provide relief to weary runners are asked to contact the charity’s appeal office on 01254 244711 or email email@example.com
