Stroke campaigner Michelle Wilkinson and her team stepped out at the seaside to raise cash and awareness for the Stroke Association.

Mum-of-five Michelle (46), son Joshua and supporters Iain and Lucie Warburton took part in a 10k fun run along the prom at Blackpool, from the Hilton Hotel to the Pleasure Beach and back, along with 2,000 others.

Michelle, of Lime Street, Clitheroe, got out of her chair and walked the last 100 yards. “The last bit seemed like an eternity,” she said. “I’m so proud of Josh – it was his first 10K run – and I’m so grateful to Iain and Lucie, and Bambino’s Day Care for the running vests and my hoodie.” Michelle’s sponsor site is www.justgiving.com/michellesrecovery
